Rumaldo Solis began his teaching career in 2001
at Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Texas, and in 2004 taught
at Sherman High School in Sherman, Texas. While at Sherman
Mr. Solis's symphonic bands, jazz ensembles, and marching
band received superior ratings and best in class awards at
contests. In three years, his jazz program grew to two jazz
ensembles, and the marching band placed 3rd in the U.I.L State
Marching Competition in 2005. Mr. Solis received his Bachelor's
degree in Music Education from West Texas A & M University
and his Master's degree in Woodwind Performance from the University
of North Texas. Mr. Solis has performed professionally in
Europe, Taiwan, and China. He has performed at the Texas Music
Educators Association convention in 1998, 1999, and 2000 in
various ensembles. In August of 2000 Mr. Solis placed 2nd
on clarinet in the National Intercollegiate Band Competition.
In 2006 Mr. Solis was a frequent performer with the Metropolitan
Winds in Irving, Texas. Mr. Solis has also collaborated with
Los Angeles studio musicians such as Wayne Bergeron (Spiderman
2), and Andy Martin (Dancing with the Stars).
